Welcome to the Troubles of Youth Wiki!

This is the Wiki website for the Troubles of Youth unit, taught in the Department of Sociology, Manchester Metropolitan University. Currently, the site is fairly basic, but please feel free to contact me if there is something you wish to add.

"How to Access Online Journals" Session: 5th December, 2-3pm, LT5

The department has organised a session regarding the use of online journals, to be delivered by Sheila Candeland from the library. This is an extremely useful session, and well worth attending.

Power-cut : Tuesday 27th

Apologies (like I could do something!) for the power-cut today, and the subsequent cancellation of the Tuesday seminars. I will post some questions in relation to the seminar reading by Wright, Brookman and Bennett shortly, in Seminar Material.

 A Good Idea

A good idea has come in from Chris Fox. The Harm and Society produce a free email bulletin: you can sign up for either a daily or monthly bulletin covering crime, criminal justice and related issues. Just click on the site below to register:

Example of What you Get

As it stands, the wikisite has four sections

  1. Unit Administration - this contains lecture outlines, class times and details of assessments etc.

  2. Lecture Materials - this contains files of brief lecture notes, and an audio file of each lecture.

  3. Seminar Materials - this contains questions, links and readings pertaining to the seminars.

  4. Troubles of Youth Forum - A discussion forum - please use as you wish (within reason!). You will need to register to use it. Click on this link and then on the  "Register" link in the top right corner.
